THE POWER OF PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY

Product photography is SUPER IMPORTANT when running a business.

Let's start from the beginning!

You have your business idea, you have everything ready and now all you need is the imagery to compliment your products/business online.

When running a business, there are a few key principles that will help to elevate & make sure it shines from the get-go:
  • Have a great quality product.
  • Ensure this is marketed well through accurate descriptions.
  • Make sure it is visually stunning on all digital platforms.

Consistent visuals are one of the building blocks to creating a brand that is lasting and memorable for your consumers.

Like in any creative field, you can easily fall into a creative rut and when running a business as having to do everything as a one woman/man band can be overwhelming, and with imagery, it can sometimes drop to the bottom on the 'importance list', however this should not be an area you let slide.

There are so many ways in which stunning imagery can benefit your brand, and below are the top 7:

  • Increased sales. Great product visual will make your products more appealing, resulting in more sales.
  • Higher customer satisfaction. Customers will have fewer questions, and an easier time deciding what they want. They can examine your photos and buy with confidence.
  • Capture attention rapidly and introduce your brand
  • Increase click-through rates on product pages
  • Shape the voice and tone of brand storytelling
  • Build your brand’s visual consistency
  • Drive engagement on social media channels and grow credibility

While imagery can make your business shine,  the bad news is that it can easily break your company. Low quality imagery conveys the feeling of a low-quality product, even if your product is fantastic quality!

So, when starting out, try and make sure your imagery is up to scratch.

Some great tips when starting out are to do some market research within your niche and see what others are doing. See how your imagery compares to theirs – DON’T COPY but take inspiration of where you can improve and work on it from there.

If this is feeling a little overwhelming, then there are many photographers who can help you in your journey and are well experienced in making brands truly stand out against competitors.
